Early Childhood Non-Profit Spreads Its Wings
Formed in 1978 as a response to the needs of families at TECH (Training and Evaluation Center of Hutchinson) the Early Education Center (EEC) in Hutchinson, Kansas planted its roots as a vital community service. Now affiliated with Hutchinson Public Schools USD 308, the EEC has grown to meet the needs of even more families by providing developmental screenings, the Infant Toddler Program, and Preschool.
With the help of grant funds from the Hutchinson Community Foundation, the EEC approached BowerComm to help them develop a new brand that better represented the caliber of resource they are for the community.
“We chose Lori and BowerComm because she had a knowledge base of early education and early childhood. I really appreciated Lori’s approach—it felt genuine,” said Val Shober, Early Education Center Director. “We did the full Journey to Yes process, and wanted to create a new logo, website, and other materials to increase community relationships and awareness of what EEC stands and its importance in Reno County.”
Through interviews and an in-depth workshop with a variety of stakeholders, EEC and the BowerComm team created language and visual materials to establish themselves as the “Child Development Experts,” capturing the heart of what EEC is all about–Helping Children Thrive from Birth to Five.
“The staff at BowerComm really got to know what EEC is all about. They don’t operate at the surface level. They really dove in deep to understand our needs. We wanted everything about the new branding to demonstrate that together, our team of experts surrounds your child and empowers you with knowledge and tools to help your child be as physically, socially, and emotionally healthy as possible. That’s why we really liked the big owl with its wings wrapped around the little owl. It feels smart, warm, and energetic. Everything we strive to be!”
The EEC hopes that the new branding will bring more community awareness of the programs and services they offer and increase awareness of the importance of early childhood education.
“I would say it was worth every penny. It is well worth it to know that somebody is knowledgeable in what you’re trying to do, and thorough. BowerComm did way more than I ever would have expected. I would definitely do it all over again. It’s been wonderful!”
