Bailey started her career in community and economic development work, and has been a marketing and communications professional for the last ten years. She is known for sparking new, innovative ideas, and holding her clients to high standards.
Her early work included the growth and development of the Young Professionals of Reno County, which started as a seed of an idea and grew to more than 150+ members under her leadership. She also co-founded the Kansas Young Professionals Summit in 2010, and the event still takes place each year around the state.
Bailey’s work at the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce included the expansion of the hike/bike trail system, the adoptions of a “Complete Streets” policy by the City of Hutchinson, and a master planning process in cooperation with Downtown Hutchinson. She also launched “Backstage Pass,” a program designed to help local businesses recruit executive level talent to Reno County, as well as “Intern Hutch”, a first of its kind community-wide internship recruitment initiative in Kansas
After working with Lori Bower on projects through her previous work, Bailey asked Lori to join BowerComm. She wanted to be a part of Lori’s quest to stop random acts of marketing and to save the world through effective communication. Together, the two have used their optimism, community engagement knowledge, puns, and big-picture thinking to cement themselves as “the ones who get it done” throughout the state of Kansas and beyond.
Bailey holds the title of director of account management at BowerComm serves clients all over the world with one common thread – good people who do good work. Clients in Kansas include: Level Up Kansas, Go McPherson, Visit Hutch, the City of Clearwater, the Kansas State Fair, Superior Boiler, Hutchinson Community Foundation, HealthWorKS, Sparkwheel, MCDS, and many others.
Most recently, Bailey wrote and received a workforce development grant to relocate 9 refugee families to Hutchinson to fill high-demand jobs. This $88,000 grant resulted in moving more than 40 individuals to Hutchinson, likely one of the biggest jolts to population growth in years.
Bailey has two young children and two large dogs. In her free time, she attempts to keep her floors free of toys and dog hair, as well as get a solid night’s sleep. Before children, she enjoyed participating in local community theatre productions where she held many leading roles including Belle in Beauty and The Beast. Bailey enjoys hiking (now with a child strapped to her back), and loves a visit to a Michelin Star restaurant whenever she can. She’s also a dedicated fan of the Kansas State University Wildcats, and specializes in talking football and men’s basketball.
